Me and My Real Family - Part 1 (05.20.18)

This week, we started a new series entitled
"Me and My Real Family"
Pastor Gabriel from our Delano campus shared the message.

Ruth Ch 1
Verse 1: "In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land.  So a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab.
Verse 2: "The man’s name was Elimelek, his wife’s name was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon an Kilion.  They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem, Judah.  And they went to Moab and lived there."

Influences on the Family:
1. Culture: “In the days when the judges ruled”
Judges Ch 21:25: “every man did according to what was right in his own eyes…”

2. Natural Causes: “There was a famine in the land”

3. Personal Decisions: “They went to live in Moab”

Principle 1: You are not called to make Godly children.

In Deuteronomy 6:5-6, God instructs parents
Deuteronomy: 6:5-6: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."

Principle 2: You are not called to make Godly children.
You are called to LOVE AND TRAIN THEM!

6 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Principle 3: God can REDEEM you AND any tragedy, sin, or bad decision!
